Parklife 2018: Festival-goers reckon David Schwimmer will be performing in character as Ross from Friends

The Parklife line-up has sparked some amusing confusion thanks to the inclusion of ‘Ross From Friends’.

Festival-goers couldn’t help but notice the name of this act on the set list released this week – and automatically assumed that they’d be attending a performance by David Schwimmer.

A few even jumped to the conclusion that he’d be in character and playing his keyboard like he did in several episodes of Friends.

However, Ross From Friends is actually the name of a DJ who was nominated for Best Live Act by DJ Mag in 2017.

Needless to say, this fact seems to have gone over the head of a few social media users from Manchester.

One person tweeted: “All I wanna know is why Ross from Friends is live at parklife. So confused.”

A second questioned: “Why is ‘Ross from friends’ on the parklife lineup is he gonna bring out the keyboard I have so many questions.”

Another added: “Parklife is so disappointing I thought Ross from Friends was playing and turns out it’s actually a DJ and not Ross from Friends.”

Meanwhile, others have been keen to set the record straight before the event takes place in Heaton Park in June.

One music fan chimed in: “Hideous that people think Ross from friends on the parklife lineup is David Schwimmer.”

Parklife will be headlined by Liam Gallagher, Skepta, N.E.R.D and The xx.

Tickets went on general sale on Ticketmaster and the Parklife website this morning, priced at £109.50 for a weekend ticket and £65 for a day pass, with VIP packages also available.

It will be the eighth instalment of the event, which started modestly on Platt Fields Park in Fallowfield in 2010.

The festival moved to Heaton Park in 2013, where it will take place this year on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10.
