Altrincham gang attack: CCTV appeal after man left with fractured eye socket

Police are appealing for information after a man sustained a fractured eye socket from being repeatedly punched and kicked in the head by a gang of men in an unprovoked attack outside an Altrincham takeaway last month.

The incident occured at around 3.10am on Saturday March 7, when a man was waiting for a taxi outside a takeaway on Railway Road.
Several men approached the 24-year-old victim and knocked him to the floor before carrying out a ‘mindless’ attack and running away towards the train station.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS MAN? GMP are appealing for information
Detective Constable Sonia Johnston of South Manchester division said: “This unprovoked act of mindless brutality left a man with a fractured eye socket, not to mention the emotional trauma he suffered.
“I would urge people to look at this image carefully and if you think you recognise this man, please call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7586 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
