Chicharito eyes silverware: Hernandez would 'swap every one' of his goals for a trophy with Manchester United

Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez claims he would 'swap all his goals' for one trophy with the Red Devils.

The Mexican striker claims he doesn't let himself get 'obsessed with scoring goals’ but instead wishes to claim silverware with the United.

Even though the United forward only started 22 games last season, he still managed 12 goals and became Manchester United’s joint-second highest scorer alongside Danny Welbeck.

“I’ve never had a goal target," Hernandez told Inside Red. "I don’t want to be obsessed with scoring goals, I don’t want to be only that player who only scores goals, and if I score goals I’ve played well and if I didn’t score goals I played badly.”

And Hernandez was keen to underline that it is never about one striker, rather it is about him doing his best for the team.

"You can never play one man against 11, and one player can never score all the goals by himself,” he said.

After enduring an injury-hit season at Old Trafford, the Manchester United striker is back to full fitness and Sir Alex Ferguson believes ‘Chicharito’ can prove doubters wrong and show why he splashed out £8million on the Mexican in 2010.

Manchester United were dramatically denied the Barclays Premier League title after late goals by Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero ensured that the trophy went to bitter rivals Manchester City.

Sir Alex has already admitted that winning the league is his team’s main priority next season and Hernandez is desperate to ensure that the trophy comes back to Old Trafford in May.

“If the goals are coming then good, but as I’ve always said, I would swap every one of my goals for a title with Manchester United.”
