Three women battered in own home during ‘terrifying’ Stockport robbery

Three women were battered in their own home during a ‘horrific’ robbery in Stockport.

At around 4.50pm on Saturday, May 31, two men forced their way into a house on Wellington Road North, Stockport and told two of the women inside to ‘get on the floor’.

The men then launched a vicious attack on the terrified pair, punching and kicking both women.

After hearing the noise, another woman came downstairs and was kicked in the stomach before one of the women was dragged into the lounge.

The men then dragged one of the women into the lounge and threatened all three women, before assaulting them again and then stealing some items.

One woman, who began calling the police, was punched in the face and had her phone taken before the men stole her car and drove off.

Inspector Scott Winters of Stockport division, said: “Two men forced their way into a home using threats and violence in order to steal from an innocent family.

“This was a horrific incident and a terrifying experience for the victims, who are understandably distraught by this event.

The first man is described as white, about 6ft, of heavy build and has short dark hair.

He was wearing a black waterproof jacket, a light-coloured t-shirt, blue jeans and military style boot.

The second man is described as white, about 5ft 10in tall, of slim build and was wearing a grey hooded top with blue and white stripes and light blue jeans.

Insp Winters added: “We’re urging anyone who recognises the descriptions or may have seen a two men acting suspiciously in the area to contact police immediately, as we want to find the offenders as soon as possible.”
