VIDEO: Start your engines! Chevrolet tease new Manchester United kit in time-travelling shirt trailer

Manchester United fans might want to go back in time after last season’s struggles – and the club’s teaser trailer for their new kit is doing just that.

American car giant Chevrolet penned a seven-year, £53million deal with the club in July 2012 and the shirt featuring their badge has so far been kept under wraps.

That remained the case in the teaser with a full unveiling hinted at soon.

The video shows fans and players in a range of Red Devils kits throughout the ages, from the baggy Victorian era jerseys to the super-svelte shirts of the modern times, as they sing a choral version of terrace favourite chant Glory, Glory Man United.

The treble-winning 1999 shirt also gets a run out as does the one Ron Atkinson’s side wore to triumph in the 1985 FA Cup Final.

There is also a special guest appearance from club legends Sir Bobby Charlton and Denis Law for eagle-eyed Old Trafford regulars to spot.

New Dutch boss Louis van Gaal does not show his face, but he can perhaps be excused after he led Holland to the World Cup last-eight with a late comeback to beat Mexico 2-1 on Sunday.

Reds players who were not involved in Brazil will be back in pre-season training and the shirt could be set for a debut on ‘home soil’ when the squad jet off to the United States on July 18.
