CCTV: Police hunt two men over vicious assault on Bolton

The hunt is on for two men who police want to question after a 46-year-old man from Bolton was left in a critical condition in hospital following a vicious assault.

At around 2am on August 21, one or two offenders approached the man on Bradshawgate, Bolton, punched him and left him with serious head injuries after he fell and banged his head on the ground.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Greater Manchester Police have now released CCTV images and footage of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

The first man is described as Asian, 20 to 30 years, stocky build, with black hair and a black beard, wearing all dark clothing and carrying a dark bag.

The second man is described as Asian, 20 to 30 years, stocky build, with short black hair and wearing a grey hooded top with dark coloured sleeves and hood as well as dark shoes or boots.

Detective Sergeant Iqbal Ahmed said: “The man was subject to a vicious attack and was taken to hospital where he is still recovering from this attack.

“Although stable, the man is in a critical condition and he faces months of recovery. This incident has had a devastating effect on the man and his family.

“If anyone saw what happened or knows anyone who may have been involved to call police urgently.”
