Hunt for Salford man after woman found dead with throat slashed in Cambodian hotel

By Danielle Wainwright

A Salford man is on the run after a woman was found with her throat slashed in a hotel in Cambodia.

Stuart James Green, 47, from Eccles, fled after the body of a 20-year-old woman was found in the capital Phnom Penh.

He checked into the hotel on Christmas day with the woman and checked out three days later. The body was found the next morning.

His father Barry has begged his son to hand himself in and told The Sun that he had spoken to Green a few weeks ago who sounded happy that he had met a woman.

Daun Penh district police officer Seng Kosal, speaking to the Phnom Penh Post, said: “She was killed by stab wounds and cuts by a knife on her throat and neck.

“So far, we do not know exactly what the motive for the victim’s murder was.

“We are now seeking the suspect in order to bring him to justice and punish him under Cambodian law.”

The woman has not yet been identified.
