Tribute to young Wigan mum with ‘twinkle in her eye’ stabbed through neck

The family of a 20-year-old mum who died after she was found stabbed in the neck at a house in Wigan have paid tribute to their ‘beautiful’ daughter.

Joanne Harrison was attacked at a property on Cameron Place, Worsley Hall, on Sunday February 1, and taken to Wigan hospital where she sadly died.

Christopher Foley, 23, of Cameron Place, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Wigan Magistrates’ Court this morning.

In a statement, her family said: “Joanne was a wonderful mum, a beautiful daughter, she was beautiful, chatty, loving, fun, very creative and the most caring young lady anyone could ever ask for.

“You are the sister who always loved me. You have a twinkle in your eyes and your smile would always brighten my day up.”

Police were called to a report that a woman had suffered an injury at about 2.15pm.
