By Ben Southworth

Grab your chance to see Ben Wheatley and his cast following the release of ‘A Field in England’.

Cornerhouse are offering the opportunity to attend a satellite question and answer session, broadcast live from the Ritzy in Brixton, with British film director Ben Wheatley and cast members this Friday at 6:30pm.

The film will make history this week when it becomes the first UK film released simultaneously in cinemas, on DVD and BluRay, on Film4 and on VoD.

A Field in England, directed by Wheatley, has been described as ‘a genre bending romp’ set during the English Civil War.

His latest offering comes after his third film Sightseers, a dark comedy that was picked in the Director’s fortnight at the 2012 Cannes film festival.

The film tells the story of a small group of deserters who flee from a raging battle through an overgrown field only to be captured by two men – O’Neil and Cutler.

O’Neil forces the group to help him in his search for a hidden treasure that he believes is hidden in the field.

However as the group cross a vast mushroom circle that hands them their first meal since they fled battle, it becomes clear that the treasure might be something other than gold.

The group quickly descend into arguments, fighting and paranoia and slowly become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field.
