Watch this space: Cipriani says Sale Sharks could develop a sting of their own in weekend Wasps duel

High on life and enjoying his rugby, Sale Sharks star Danny Cipriani says the Premiership club could finally find first gear this weekend against former club Wasps.

Sharks will be keen to respond with their second home victory in the league after last week’s dismal performance away at Saracens.

Cipriani has looked in good touch all season however as he looks to continue the fine form that brought the 26-year-old his first international call up since 2008 in the summer.

“I’m loving my rugby at the moment. What I learned on tour it has given me the confidence to go out there and play,” he told MM.

“Once we get a few things sorted out hopefully you will see an even better Sale side come out this weekend.”

The fly-half spoke said there was nothing daunting about facing some old faces at Wasps, despite the London club’s strength in depth.

“It’s good playing against Wasps they’re a strong team and it looks like they could be top-four, top-six contenders this year.

“I just want to have a big game this week.”

Sale have enjoyed something of a hold over the London side in recent meetings winning five of the last six encounters.

However Wasps will be confident after a demolition of Newcastle last week took them to fifth spot in the table.

Sale will face four ex-Sharks in Chris Bell, Kearnan Myall, James Gaskell and Rob Miller while for the hosts Marc Jones makes a welcome return at hooker after a three-game absence.

Veteran winger Mark Cueto is also included on the bench.

Tom Arscott retains his place after a hat-trick against Northampton in round three while the continued absence of captain Dan Baird means another start for Magnus Lund.
