‘Chubby’ flasher in baggy pants leaves Leigh schoolgirl ‘shaken’ by exposing himself

Police are searching for a ‘chubby’ man in baggy pants who flashed a schoolgirl as she walked down a Leigh street on Monday morning.

The 15-year-old was heading down Boughey Street at the junction of Gregory Street, just after 7.30am, when she noticed a ‘tall, chubby’ man stood behind her in the middle of the road, exposing himself.

The teenager walked away ‘shaken’ and last saw the man just metres down the road near the junction of Wilkinson Street.

Police Constable Christopher Waddicar said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this crime to get in touch.

“We take this kind of incident very seriously and the victim is understandably shaken by what happened.”

The man is described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, tall, chubby, and has short blonde hair, clean shaven and was wearing a black winter fleece coat and dark baggy pants.

PC Waddicar added: “We’re also keen to hear from anyone else who may have had a similar experience but who has not yet reported it to police for whatever reason.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 6383 or the independent charity Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
