Travelling? Don’t miss any of this remarkable Premier League season

No matter which team you support, it’s hard to deny that Manchester City’s season is captivating.

They’re set to break multiple records (and have already broken some) and Manchester United fans will have the hardest time admitting to their prowess, but almost everyone else is appreciative of what Pep Guardiola’s side are doing.

Even if you’re not interested in keeping track of City’s march to the Premier League title, this season has plenty of games to keep your interest.

The fight for the remaining three places in the top four sees at least six teams in the running (including Burnley!) and almost every team in the bottom half could end the season in the relegation zone.

But what if you’re travelling outside the country? Business trips and even holidays can come at the worst time – like over the weekend of the Manchester or North London derbies.

While some countries do broadcast live Premier League action, in others, all you’ll find is their local offerings.

And you won’t even be able to stream Sky Sports or other UK channels, as they are geo-restricted.

Fortunately, there is an easy workaround to watch Premier League online outside the UK.

Install a VPN

Virtual private networks (VPN) have become increasingly popular for a few reasons.

The first and most important is that they keep you safe online. A VPN routes your connection through an external server, hiding your location and encrypting your data.

In a day and age in which identity theft is all too common, it is irresponsible not to protect yourself.

The other common reason for using a VPN is to get around geo-restrictions. Because a VPN routes you through an external server, it makes it seem like you’re in a different location.

So, you may be enjoying the sun in Thailand, but websites you visit will think that you’re in the UK.

This way, you can access Sky Sports and other channels without being blocked for being outside the country.

Useful even at home

But even when you’re in the UK, a VPN is useful for helping you watch live Premier League action.

While there is limited fare available on British channels – for ticketing and other reasons – every single game is shown live on certain US channels. You can stream a game live even if Sky Sports or BT is not showing it.

All you need is to set your VPN to a US server and you will be able to get access to their streaming.

A good VPN will cost you around £7 or £8 per month. This is not a lot, considering the security benefits that come with it.

No one should be using the internet without a VPN, and the ability to stream the Premier League no matter where you are should just be an added bonus.
