Manchester City’s Samir Nasri banned from driving for six months after fresh police investigation

France international Samir Nasri has become the second Manchester City player in a matter of weeks to be banned from driving.

The 25-year-old received a six-month ban and a £2,100 fine at Tameside magistrates court after admitting three offences of failing to provide the identity of a driver.

Choosing not to appear himself, he admitted the motoring offences through his defence team.

Former Arsenal midfielder Nasri had his original conviction in June overturned after signing a declaration saying he was unaware his Mercedes was caught on camera.

However, police subsequently started a fresh investigation after Nasri’s car was caught on camera travelling above the speed limit three times in 2011.

FIned £667 for each offence, he was also ordered to pay £105 costs.

Earlier this week Nasri’s City teammate Carlos Tevez was instructed to carry out 250 hours of community service after admitting to driving while banned.

Escaping a possible prison sentence, the Argentine was issued with a £1,000 fine and banned for a further six months.
