‘We’ve stayed in lots of hotels…and could do better!’ Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville launch hospitality company

The ambitious launch of a multinational hospitality company has been announced today by two of British football’s most decorated stars.

Current Manchester United star Ryan Giggs and former United defender and football pundit Gary Neville have set up GG Hospitality which will be the parent company of two separate ventures: Café Football and Hotel Football.

The launch represents the culmination of a busy day of news for Giggs as he takes on a player-coach role in David Moyes’ new-look backroom setup.

Hotel Football is set to debut close to Old Trafford, Manchester, next year, with Café Football’s first location due to open in Westfield Stratford, London, in November.

Giggs told the Caterer and Hotelkeeper website that the pair had been involved in every area of the company’s development.

“We have lived and breathed every element of this for a considerable time now and have been involved in every detail, every step of the way,” he said.

“We’ve stayed in lots of hotels as footballers and often felt that we could do a better job.”

The company has ambitious long-term goals with expansion planned into cities with ‘a strong football culture’ in the UK and an eventual international expansion, with Asia being targeted as a potential market.

Neville, also speaking to Caterer and Hotelkeeper, expects to be widely judged by the news and sport press as well as hospitality critics.

“That is why we have left nothing to chance and are working with some of the best people in the business to achieve our vision.”
