Stressed at work? Have a massage on your lunch break through new massage app

An online app which provides prompt and regular massage therapy to customers in the comfort of their own home has launched its services in central and Greater Manchester.

The app, Urban Massage, is the UK’s first on-demand massage service, and launched in London in 2014, offering professional massage therapies to clients in their own homes, offices and hotel rooms.

A full range of specialist massage treatments are available, including deep tissue, sports and pregnancy treatments.

Live data is used within the application to match customers with a suitable therapist in their closest proximity.

The company has had great success in its first year in the capital, establishing a network of 150 therapists serving thousands of customers each month, with plans to recruit an additional 100 therapists within the next six months.

Jack Tang, CEO and Co-founder of Urban Massage, stated that Manchester was the ‘natural choice’ for the first stage of the company’s expansion.

He said: “Manchester represents the best demographic fit for the growing consumer demand for the lifestyle and health benefits of regular massage.

“Providing top quality massage treatments when the consumer wants them, often at the last minute, within the privacy of their own home requiring no travel and little organisation, has proved a compelling reason to choose an Urban Massage therapist.”

The company has ambitious growth plans to expand as a national treatment provider, but is constantly maintaining a professional standard to its services.

It follows rigorous focus on assessments, analysing data on treatments and therapists, whilst offering all customers a rating system to complete.

Therapists interested in joining the expanding network of mobile massage treatments must demonstrate skill and experience, whilst agreeing to ongoing training and skills transfer initiatives by the company.

Megan Foster, a therapist working for the company, said: “For a freelance therapist like myself it’s also a really flexible way to work, I can just book in the hours or days I want to work and I’ll be allocated clients to suit my availability.”

The Urban Massage service is available now in central and Greater Manchester, including the Manchester Airport region.
