‘How can I succeed when I don’t play?’ Time running out for Anderson at Manchester United

By Mancunian Matters staff

Anderson has once again insisted he is ready to fight for his future at Manchester United despite the Brazilian struggling to find regular first team football at Old Trafford this season.

The midfielder has made just two starts so far under David Moyes and is rumoured to be nearing a move away from the club in January, with Fulham reportedly interested in signing the 25-year old on a loan deal when the window opens.

Injuries have often been an issue for Anderson since his arrival from Porto in 2007 but the midfielder has been fully fit for most of this season yet has failed to earn an extended run in the team.

But while the Brazil international has admitted he is far from happy with his current situation, he has insisted he is determined to take his chance when it comes to establish himself in Moyes’ first team.

“I have played only two games this season and I tried to do my very best for the team. But it is very hard when you only play a small part now and then,” Anderson said.

One major factor inAnderson’s favour could be United’s disappointing run of form.

Currently nine points behind the league leaders and placed as long as 8/1 with Betfair, Moyes could be tempted to throw Anderson back into the action in the hope of adding some drive and determination to this often weak United midfield.

But if he doesn’t manage to get more game time in the run-up to January, Anderson might feel a move away on loan is the right option for him.

While Betfair punters clearly don’t believe United have it in them to be capable of challenging for the title this season, there has to be some genuine concern that the club might struggle to even secure a top-four finish.
