Maradona calls for Sergio Aguero to leave the Hand of Rob(erto Mancini) and join Real Madrid

By Paddy von Behr

Diego Maradona wants to see striker Sergio “Kun” Aguero leave Manchester City – to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Aguero has scored 32 league goals in 58 appearances since joining City from Athletico Madrid in 2011, including last season’s title-winning strike.

But Maradona told Spanish paper Marca he would love to see the 24-year-old join the La Liga champions and link up with former Manchester United counter-part Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Kun is the solution for the future of Madrid, and for Ronaldo, the perfect complement,” he said.

In 2003, Aguero broke Maradona’s 27-year record by becoming the youngest player to debut in the Argentine Primera Division – aged just 15 years and 35 days.

Then, in 2009, the striker became Maradona’s son-in-law when he married the former Argentina manager’s daughter, Giannina.

The pair split in January, but off-the-field issues have not stopped the 52-year-old piling praise on the Argentine international.

And Maradona believes Aguero is a better fit at the Bernabeu than Jose Mourinho’s current striking options of Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain.

“Sergio is pure movement,” said Maradona. “Benzema and Pipit [Higuain] are two tanks that may impressively drag the defence, yes, but collide with CR7 [Ronaldo].

“Sometimes I think we are going to have to put a traffic light there to regulate traffic between them.”

City boss Roberto Mancini will want to hold on to Aguero for as long as possible, as he looks to reel in Premier League leaders Manchester United in the last ten games of the season.
