GMP hunt for man over early morning sex assault on woman outside Middleton Tesco

Police are appealing for help finding a man regarding a sexual assault on a woman on Park Road, Middleton in March.

The incident occurred outside the Tesco Extra on Park Road at around 6am on Saturday, March 14 when a 33-year-old woman was approached by a man as she stood outside the shop.

The man then sexual assaulted her, but the victim was able to push him away and escape to the store, the attacker then fled in the direction of Middleton Gardens.

The man is described as being black, in his mid 20s, slim to average build with short afro style hair, and police are circulating an image of man they would like to speak to.

APPEAL: Police want to speak to this man in connection with the assault

Detective Constable Nick Price said: “We have circulated the image on our own internal computer system but unfortunately, the person has not been traced.

“I would ask people to take a good look at the person in the picture and if you recognise him to call police.

“I would also make a direct appeal to the man himself to come forward so we can eliminate him from our investigation.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 8701 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
