We could have been the terrible two! Bad-boy Mario Balotelli reveals effort to lure Carlos Tevez to AC Milan

By Ben Southworth

Manchester City’s former Mr Controversial Mario Balotelli has claimed he tried to convince Carlos Tevez to join him at AC Milan.

Tevez, who played with Balotelli at Manchester City, is good friends with bad-boy striker Balotelli however the friendship will mean little should they meet in the Serie A next season.

Balotelli told Sportmediaset: “Tevez? He’s a friend and I told him to come to Milan, but he didn’t listen to me and he went to Juve. When we meet on the pitch, I will laugh at him.”

Balotelli, who has scored 12 goals in 13 appearances for Milan since his January move from City, is happy with life in Milan and is in confident mood going into the new season.

“Milan are the team that I have in my heart, it is a good club with many fans.  I’m fine here and I’ll be staying here, then one day we’ll see.”

He added: “I don’t fear Juve, I fear nobody.”

While Juventus will again go in to the Serie A season as favourites for the title, Balotelli warned that Milan do not fear the Bianconeri.

Having failed to lure his former City teammate to Milan, Balotelli hopes the club have better luck with his next transfer target.

The Italy striker said: “We are strong, but to compete at a European level we need reinforcements.

“I would like us to sign Ibrahimovic – I’d like to play with him. Maybe if I say it, they will buy him.”
