Warehouse Project FC vs Band on the Wall United? Manchester music venues take to the pitch for charity

Manchester music figures will be teaming up for an annual five-a-side football match next week to raise £1000 for charity.

The Deaf Institute, Band on the Wall, The Warehouse Project and Hoya Hoya are just some of the venues hoping to field a winning team for Manchester charity Lifeline on July 13.

The competition, which starts at 3pm, will be held at Ardwick Powerleague with the winning team receiving a full set of custom-made kits donated by Umbro.

Organiser Chris Horkan from promoter Hey! Manchester said: “We’re hoping that the Trof Trophy will continue to grow this year.

“It’s a rare opportunity for Manchester’s music community to get together, and raise money for a good cause.”

The Lifeline Project works with individuals, families and communities both to prevent and reduce harm, to promote recovery, and to challenge the inequalities linked to alcohol and drug misuse.

The Deaf Institute will be the event’s celebration hub with a post-tournament party kicking off from 6pm as well as a live screening of the World Cup final.

Guest DJs will also take to the decks as well as a Trof Trophy quiz hosted by Dutch Uncles.  Entry is free and open to everyone.
