By Danielle Wainwright

A Salford man was stabbed in the leg on Sunday in an ‘unprovoked’ attack as he was walking home from work.

The 29-year-old man was rushed to Manchester Royal Infirmary after he was stabbed by two men on Great Clowes Street at around 11.20pm.

He suffered substantial bleeding and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The attackers were all described as black, aged 25-30 with average builds, and police are now appealing for witnesses of the attack.

Detective Inspector Kevin Johnston, based at Salford East Integrated Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “There appears to be no motive for this attack, which has left a man with significant wounds to his leg.

“Although in a stable condition, he remains in hospital and may require further treatment.

“Detectives and officers from Salford East INPT are continuing with the investigation. I would appeal to anyone with information about this crime to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
