Clash of the Titans: Hatton battles Warriner in breast cancer charity darts match

Ricky Hatton may be good at throwing punches but how is he at throwing darts? Well, we’re about to find out as the Hitman takes on darts pro Alan Warriner and all in the name of charity.

The two retired championship level sportsmen will face each other in the battle for the bullseye at Hallmark Hotel, Handforth, on Saturday August 1.

And it’s not just a title at stake but bragging rights as the face-off takes a Red v Blue twist between the boxer and avid City supporter and the Lancastrian, who’s shooting for Man U.

The players will also compete against members of the audience with proceeds from this fun evening going to Breast Cancer Care as darts player Peter Manley’s wife Crissy was recently treated for the disease.

Their challenge match tops the bill at the event whose line-up will also include darts legends such as Bobby George, Bob Anderson, Dennis Priestley, Colin Lloyd and Peter Manley.

Turns out the former world champion in the ring fancies himself to be a ‘decent dartsman’ but whether he can get Warriner up against the ropes (or in this case corkboard) only time will tell.

To get your tickets you can call 07714 211135, email [email protected], or visit the  Direct Darts website.

Tickets for the event are priced at £50 per person or £500 for a table of 10 and include a three-course meal and a quiz.
