Police appeal: GMP release images of Moss Side pervert wanted for sexual assault

A Moss Side pervert, who followed and sexually assaulted a woman, is still on the loose and police have released an e-fit image of the man in a bid to catch him.

The 21-year-old victim was walking along Moss Lane East, near the junction with Wilmslow Road when she realised she was being followed, at 4am on Saturday June 27.

A man approached her and started talking to her and tried to kiss her before he sexually assaulted her on Ruskin Avenue.

Detective Constable Stuart Macquiban said: “We are currently investigating this and are determined to find out who is responsible.

“However, for us to do this, we need the help from the public and witnesses.”

E-FIT: Thanks to the victim police have been able to put together this image of the offender

The offender is described as being Asian, in his late teens/early 20s, of slim build, had black hair that was short at the sides and longer on top.  He was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans.

Police have put together an e-fit image based on the victim’s description of the pervert, and released a CCTV image, and DC Macquiban is urging anyone who recognises the man to come forward.

He said: “The victim has managed to help us create an efit and we have also been able to obtain some local CCTV footage of a man we would like to speak to.

“If you recognise him, please call please as soon as possible.”
