Infusion of 1920s glamour and 1980s clubbing as Cocktails in the City event showcases Manchester’s finest

The new Ivy Spinningfields restaurant showcased a selection of its cocktails menu at Cocktails in the City.

The Cocktails in the City event was an infusion of 1920s elegance and flamboyance, representing the era of prohibition in America, on the top floor and the 1980s club scene on the bottom floor.

The event showcased 25 stalwarts, noisy neighbours and the bars of the future that are shaping Manchester’s nightlife scene.

The Ivy Spinningfields is one of those for the future. It opens later this month, as the latest branch of the famous London restaurant of the same name.

It will feature four floors, each offering a different dining experience.

The cocktails included their Salted Caramel Espresso Martini with Absolut Elyx and the Snowy Owl – a mix of Absolut vodka, coconut rum and Champagne – both of which showed the high quality offerings the restaurant will feature.

The Absolut Elyx cocktail was declared the most popular at Cocktails in the City.

Each bar had a personalised stall where they advertised their cocktails on offer.

The individual stalls were eclectic and beautifully ornate and acted as billboards for the vibe of the bars ranging from walls of red roses to stainless steels bar.

What is evident is that while Manchester’s restaurant scene is suffering as a result of too much competition, its bar scene is thriving and offering Mancunians and visitors alike a varied and stylish night out.

The Ivy Spinningfields opens its doors on Tuesday 27th November.
