Paralympic legend Dame Sarah Storey in race against time to secure cycling team funding

Cycling legend Dame Sarah Storey is on the final day of her Join The Team crowdfunding campaign.

Dame Sarah, from Manchester, has been raising money since early February with the intention of supporting her women’s cycling group ‘Boot Out Breast Cancer Cycling Club’.

The campaign has raised less than £6,000 of its £15,000 target so far and will close this afternoon at 5.10.

Dame Sarah is Britain’s most successful female Paralympian with 14 in the pool and on the bike.

Her campaign is fundraising to help support race entries, logistics and equipment needs, whilst also providing an opportunity to create training opportunities for female cyclists.

Pledges start at £18 for membership of the club but any donation over £50 will see people’s names printed on Dame Sarah’s motorhome.

The campaign is also supported by Paralympic champions Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott who won medals at Rio 2016.
