Police hunt masked gunman who robbed Oldham petrol station

By Matthew Lees

A masked gunman is still being hunted by police following a robbery of an Oldham petrol station last month.

At around 9:30pm on May 11, the man pulled up to the payment window of the petrol kiosk in Milne Street, Chadderton, in a silver car and pointed a gun at the cashier.

Cash was placed into a black bin liner before the attacker drove away in a vehicle described as a Vauxhall Astra or Corsa.

Detective Constable Ian Stockwell said: “The woman who was working at the kiosk that night has been left extremely shaken by the whole ordeal.

“If you were in the area that night and saw the incident happen or anything suspicious please call police.”

Police have also released an image of a man they believe can help in the investigation.

“We are keen to trace the man in the CCTV image as we believe he may have vital information that can assist us,” added Detective Constable Stockwell.

“If this was you or you know it who it was please get in touch.”

Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or the Oldham Borough Integrated Neighbourhood Team on 0161 856 9045.
