Reefer renovations: Police discover two houses JOINED together to create giant Manchester cannabis farm

By Danielle Wainwright

A cannabis empire worth a staggering £180,000 was discovered this morning spread over two houses that had been internally joined together in Manchester.

The drugs haul was discovered shortly after 8am after a warrant was executed on Canada Street in Miles Platting and a man and a woman have been arrested.

Strangely, the cannabis farm was found to be growing along two terraced houses and a partition had been knocked through the two properties which allowed easier access to cultivate the drugs.

A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and 300 plants have been seized.

Inspector Alan Kelly said: “This is a significant find and one that will hit the drug dealers where it hurts them most – in their pocket.

“This was sizeable operation, reflected in the fact a partition wall has been knocked down and the two properties filled with cannabis plants.

“Whoever is responsible has demonstrated a significant level of planning, but unfortunately for them this has been matched by our own determination to tackle organised criminality in our communities.”
