Manchester Phoenix are looking to continue their title challenge this weekend as they host bottom of the table Telford Tigers on Saturday night before travelling to Sheffield Steeldogs on Sunday.

Reigning EPL champions Phoenix have won successive games against Swindon Wildcats and Milton Keynes Lightning and lie second behind Guildford Flames.

James Archer hit a hat trick against Swindon at the Ice Dome last week – his first triple score of the season.

He will be looking to hit more goals this weekend and the omens are good – Phoenix have thrashed Telford on their last two meetings, scoring 17 goals in the process.

Tigers have been leaking goals this season and if Phoenix score on Saturday night, they will have shipped 200 goals in just 40 games.

Last weekend, Phoenix triumphed 6-3 over Swindon in Altrincham thanks to Archer’s hattrick, and goals from Ciaran Long, Ladislav Harabin and Stephen Wallace.

The win over Wildcats completed a four point weekend for Phoenix after they beat Milton Keynes Lighnting 3-1 on the road thanks to a Wallace double and Juraj Faith’s strike.

Phoenix’s top scorer this season, Martin Cingel, has been awarded the BIH EPL Player of the Month accolade.

Saturday’s game against Telford faces off at 7pm at the Altrincham Ice Dome.  Tickets are available via the venue or on www.manchesterphoenix.co.uk
