Man glassed in face after accidentally bumping into Sale pub thug

A man was glassed in the face on Saturday night in a ‘violent and unprovoked assault’ after bumping into another man on his way to the toilet at a Trafford bar.

The 25-year-old victim accidentally knocked into his attacker and the duo became involved in a verbal argument at around 11.50pm in King’s Ransom, Britannia Road, Sale.

The attacker then ruthlessly punched the man with one hand before smashing a glass he was holding in his other hand into the side of the victim’s face.

After the attack, the victim was then rushed to hospital to receive treatment to lacerations of the face.

Detective Constable Jon Lloyd said: “This was a violent and unprovoked assault on a man enjoying a night out in the pub.

“Smashing a glass into someone’s face is as excessive as it is unnecessary and it is fortunate the man was not blinded or even killed.”

The attacker is described as a white male, 25 years old, of medium build who is 5ft 10in tall with a shaved head.

Police are now urging witnesses to get in contact if they have any information.

Detective Lloyd added: “If anyone was in the pub on Saturday night and saw what happened or if anyone has information about the person responsible, please call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 0161 856 1718 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
