A teenage boy was ‘viciously’ raped by two men as he walked through a Salford park in the early hours.
The horrific incident occured when the victim, 17, was walking through Buille Hill Park in Eccles around 12.50am on Wednesday, October 8.
He was approached by two men, one from the front and one from behind, who pushed him to the ground and then raped him.
Detective Chief Inspector Clare Devlin from Greater Manchester Police, said: “This is a very serious incident which we are actively investigating.
“The boy is obviously extremely distressed, having been subject to a vicious attack, and we are doing all we can to support him.”
Police are now calling for anyone who may know something about the attack to come forward.
The attackers are described as white, in their late twenties and both were wearing shorts and hoodies with the hoods up.
One of them had blonde hair and was wearing glasses.
Det Chief Insp Devlin added: “There will be extra Police patrols in the area of Buille Hill Park in order to reassure the public and I am appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“If you believe that you may have any information that could assist the investigation or lead to the identification and arrest of the persons responsible, please contact us.
“In the meantime, I would urge people to take extra care, remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings.”
