Manchester’s gay wedding show ‘will help unite UK behind LGBT community’

The second national gay wedding show takes place in Manchester tomorrow – and it will help bring the UK behind the LGBT community, according to the event’s manager.

All those who attend the event at Phones4u Arena on Saturday January 10 – which boasts up to 140 exhibitors – will be entered into a prize draw to win a dream £3,000 wedding at On the 7th Hotel, Manchester.

The show’s manager Kim Moorhead is delighted with preparations for the UK’s largest gay wedding show and has been impressed by interest in the event, which was held in Liverpool last year.

“The event seems to have brought the LGBT community together not only in Manchester but all over the UK which is fantastic,” Ms Moorhead told MM.

“The show has grown massively since last year and it just shows the UK pulling together.

“This event is now in its second year and it is all about supporting the couples.”

Manchester has the largest concentration of same sex couples and organisers are expecting exhibitors and guests from all over the country to be in attendance.

The show will offer a huge range of exhibits including bridal and groom attire, jewellers, photography, gift lists and wedding cakes among others.

There will also be live entertainment from a range of wedding singers, bands and musicians as well as two fashion shows on the main stage.

Ms Moorhead added: “It shows how great the UK is at catering for gay couples.

“You do not always get a traditional wedding because everyone likes different things and weddings can be very different within a community.”

The one day event runs from 10am-4pm and the winner of the wedding will be announced live at 3pm.
