Match of the day: Salford media firm dock10 add former BBC man to senior production team

Salford based media firm dock10 have announced a new signing – from just across MediaCityUK at BBC North.

Brian Hardman has joined the team as head of broadcast operations for dock10’s post production unit having previously worked in a similar role for The Farm North based at BBC North.

This newly created role demonstrates the importance placed on delivering excellent customer service at dock10, as it continues to expand its short form and long form service capabilities.

Mr Hardman will lead on technology and operational matters and brings a wealth of experience of assembling and managing teams of creatives and technologists to provide leading edge and innovative solutions for large-scale projects, and will become part of the dock10 senior team.

He said: “I could not be more proud of what I have helped The Farm achieve over the past 4 years within BBC North, where we have developed and managed a team of over 60 people – but the opportunity to get back to the forefront of Post Production in a broader role is one that I look forward to immensely.

“I am delighted to be joining several friends and former colleagues in the talented dock10 team, who are doing some amazing and innovative work at the heart of MediaCityUK.”

The TV studios at dock10 are used for a number of the BBC’s best-loved shows including Question of Sport, Citizen Khan and Match of the Day as well as other hit shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Dock10 is also developing its virtual reality 360degree offering and Mr Hardman is expected to play a big role in that development.

Paul Austin, Head of Post Production, dock10s said:  “It is imperative that we continue to offer technical and operational excellence to our clients and there is no one better than Brian to ensure that we achieve that.”
