‘I will consider everything’: Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos gives biggest hint yet to Manchester United move

Toni Kroos has given the clearest indication yet that he could be set for a move to Manchester United in the summer.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has been the subject of much transfer speculation in the last few weeks, with reports suggesting the German international could be on the way to Old Trafford as part of a summer spending spree.

Kroos, 24, has yet to sign a new contract with the German and European champions. His contract expires in June 2015.

Kroos’ negotiations with Bayern chiefs have hit a snag after being reportedly unhappy at his valuation in comparison to his team mates.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Bayern’s Champions League last 16 second leg against Arsenal, Kroos said: “No one has come to any agreement and it will stay like this until the summer.

“I think that anything is possible for me if I leave. I have to think about this for myself, and make the right decision.

“I’ve heard that people have written that I might go to England. But there’s nothing new from my point of view.

“The situation is that I don’t have any agreement right at the moment [at Bayern]. On the other side there is no agreement in place anywhere.”

With Manchester United languishing in sixth spot, nine points off rivals Manchester City who currently lie in the fourth place as well as having two games in-hand, it is unlikely David Moyes’ men will be competing in Europe’s premier club competition next season.

Despite this, Kroos said he would not automatically discount the club as a possible destination even if they miss out on Champions League place.

“I will consider everything,” he said. “If I should leave.”

Kroos’ comments come a week after his younger brother Felix, who plays for German side Werder Bremen, admitted that he had discussed Manchester United with his sibling.

“We have already talked about it. Manchester has been the team of my dreams since I was a child,” said Felix Kroos.

“However, I don’t give him any advice. He will take a good decision for himself.”

Kroos has featured for Bayern 33 times this season and seven times for the German national side, scoring three goals altogether.

The highlight was a wonder strike in the first leg of the Champions League clash against Arsenal at The Emirates last month.

Despite Kroos’ future being very much up in the air, Bayern manager Pep Guardiola insists he wants the young midfieder to stay put and develop under his tutorage.

“I said to him you have time to become an even better player,’’ said Guardiola. “I hope he maintains his form this season – and for more seasons at this club.

“Toni is a great talent, a good, good player. He is very important. Earlier in the season, we had problems in midfield when Javi Martinez was injured and Toni was very important.

“He’s young. He can be better and better. He can improve more.”
