Rochdale boss Hill excited for ‘no-pressure game’ against Doncaster

Rochdale AFC manager Keith Hill says there is no pressure on his side when they head across the Pennines to take on Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday.

With his team still in contention for the final League One playoff position, the Dale boss believes his players can focus on enjoying their football.

Currently four points behind Chesterfield with a game in hand, Rochdale need a win against Paul Dickov’s mid-table Rovers to keep up their promotion charge.

Speaking to the official club website, Hill said: “It’s a no pressure game because the pressures have been alleviated with the successes that we’ve had this season, but want to build on it.

“We want to go to Doncaster and give a great account of ourselves. We want to win, it’s as simple as that.

“I think if we maintain the performance levels that we had against Preston, or for example, Fleetwood away, then we’ll be ok.”

Hill could welcome back midfielders Jamie Allen and Matty Lund, while James Coppinger and Nathan Tyson are both doubtful for Rovers due to knee injuries.

November’s reverse league fixture ended in a 3-1 victory for Dickov’s side, with Kyle Bennett, Theo Robinson and Curtis Main all getting on the scoresheet.
