GMP charge three teens after ‘fun loving’ Denton man stabbed to death in brawl

The heartbroken family of a ‘cheeky chappie’ murdered in a brawl in Denton are one step closer to justice as three teens, the youngest just 15, have been charged and one arrested.

Dominic ‘Doyley’ Doyle, 21, was rushed to hospital but sadly died from stab wounds after a fight on Manchester Road, involving six to eight men, on Sunday June 7.

The large fight, in which another man also sustained serious injuries, was reported to police who arrived at the scene just after 3am.

The 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed weapon.

Richard Lineham, 18, of Hartley Street, Audenshaw, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

And Liam Seabright, also 18, of Rowcon Close, Audenshaw, has been charged with attempted murder.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.

Dominic’s devastated family sent out a tribute for the ‘fun loving’ young man yesterday.

Describing him as the ‘life and soul of a party’, they paid the following tribute: “Dominic Jay, known as Dom, lived with his mum and dad.

“He was a mummy’s boy with a large extended family. He was fun, caring, loving and a cheeky chappie who was loved by everyone who knew him.

“Dom’s friends will describe him as a brother, fun loving and the heart and soul of the party.”

GMP have also extended their support to Dominic’s family to help them through this time of tragedy.

Detective Superintendent Phil Reade said: “A young man has sadly died and our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his relatives and friends.

“I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through and specially trained officers are offering them whatever support we can.”

And messages in remembrance of the 21-year-old have been shared on Twitter.

The teenagers remain in custody and were set to appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court this morning.
