Second man due in court charged with murder of Cheetham Hill mother – police continue search for body

A second man has been charged in connection with the disappearance of a mother-of-three from Cheetham Hill and is due to appear in court today.

Rania Alayed, 25, was reported missing from her home on Tuesday July 2 and was last seen on Friday June 7 on Rodney Street near Arthur Millwood Court, Salford.

Police have launched a murder investigation and Muhanned Mahmood Al Khatib, 38, of Arthur Millwood Court, Salford, has been charged with murder and perverting the course of justice and will appear at Manchester City Magistrates Court.

A 34-year-old man remains in police custody for questioning and a man aged 64 and a woman aged 55, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been bailed until August 19.
