With a thriving nightlife and world-famous night-time culture, Manchester has something to appeal to every visitor.

If you fancy a flutter, there are a range of casinos throughout the city to suit your needs.

But if you fancy putting your money on something different, Manchester has plenty of options.

From dog racing to football, we look at the best betting venues and options in and around the city.

The Gambling Commission acts as the UK regulator for the gambling industry. A non-departmental government body, they are responsible for supervising gambling law and monitoring gambling bodies in this country.

Since its creation in 2007, the commission oversees arcades, slot machines, lotteries, bingo and casinos to ensure laws are adhered to and consumer are treated fairly.

It also supervises the government on policy and potential law changes, as well as providing consumer support and advice.

For those who prefer staying indoors, the online betting market is the fastest growing sector in recent years, with plenty of new online casinos available to play whatever your preferences.

Belle Vue dog track

While the number of active greyhound stadiums in the UK continues to dwindle, the Belle Vue track in Gorton is still going strong. With an electric atmosphere and packed out stands, it is still a local favourite for customers wanting a punt. Open from 6:00pm with racing starting at 7:20pm and finishing at 10:20pm, Belle Vue remains a standout attraction in the city.

Chester Racecourse

A little outside Manchester, Chester Racecourse remains the North West’s premier horse racing venue and is the oldest racecourse still in use in Britain. The 2018 season kicks off with the inaugural three-day May Festival, starting on May 9 with a full schedule through until September 29. For the discerning gambler, there are few finer places to place some bets than the Roodee.

Boasting the Premier League’s two form teams, Manchester has a history of footballing success, and gamblers are invariably drawn to betting on the two sporting giants. Whether it is betting on the winner, the final score or even who will win the first throw-in, there are few safer bets than City and United on current performances.

Strictly Come Dancing

All major bookmakers now offer great odds on your favourite contestant on the latest reality TV competition. There are few better ways to enjoy a Saturday night than in front of the telly, and it’s even better if you can make some money at the same time.
