From football to dog racing… MM’s top entertainment venues in and around Manchester

With a thriving nightlife and world-famous night-time culture, Manchester has something to appeal to every visitor.

Chester Racecourse

A little outside Manchester, Chester Racecourse remains the North West’s premier horse racing venue and is the oldest racecourse still in use in Britain. The 2018 season kicks off with the inaugural three-day May Festival, starting on May 9 with a full schedule through until September 29. For the discerning gambler, there are few finer places to place some bets than the Roodee.

Boasting the Premier League’s two form teams, Manchester has a history of footballing success, and gamblers are invariably drawn to betting on the two sporting giants.
