In-toxic-ating: 2016 X Factor winner Matt Terry launches debut single

After the success of his Spanish track remix ‘Subeme La Radio’, 2016 X Factor winner Matt Terry has announced his highly-anticipated new single will be released on Friday.

‘Sucker For You’ is the first single to be released from his debut album and the track presents Terry’s unique pop sound.

The song was co-written by Terry and showcases his take on the darker side of love.

The singer said: “We’ve all been in that toxic position when we know a relationship is toxic and not good for us but sometimes we ignore it and refuse to let go.

“I wrote this song when I was going through exactly that. The lyrics tell a tale of heartbreak, but the melody isn’t sad or depressing – because I’ve come out the other side and I’m happy now.”

He has already had a top thee hit with ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ while the 24-year-old also featured on the charity single for the Grenfell Tower disaster ‘Bridge over Troubled Water’.

If you thought that was successful, Terry surprised us with yet another victory when he showed off his fluency in Spanish on Enrique Iglesias’ summer single ‘Subeme La Radio’.

“So far people know me as the guy who won X Factor. But when I look back on this time last year, I can’t quite believe how far I’ve come,” added Terry.

“I’m so grateful for where I am now, and I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I can’t wait for the next step in my journey.”
