Cristiano Ronaldo WILL return to Old Trafford… for one day only

Cristiano Ronaldo will fulfil the dreams of all Man United fans and return to Old Trafford this month.

Unfortunately for spectators waiting to welcome home their hero, the winger’s return will be as part of the Portugal team set to face World Cup runners-up Argentina on November 18.

The 29-year-old is the current world player of the year and left Old Trafford for Real Madrid in 2009.

Since leaving United Ronaldo has won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League and is seen by many as the player to end the club’s recent slump.

During six years at the Old Trafford club Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 292 games, helping the side to three Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League.

With United currently struggling in the league, fans would welcome the the prospect of the winger lining up alongside former Madrid teammate Angel Di Maria.

The Portugal captain has regularly been linked with a return to United since his £80million move to Madrid but his agent recently stated that he plans to finish his career with Real.

However, another player who might be making the move from Madrid to Manchester is Gareth Bale.

The Welsh winger is rumoured to be surplus to requirements for the Spanish giants despite scoring 22 goals in his first season with the club.

United were linked with the former Spurs and Southampton player before he signed for Real last summer for a world record fee of £85.3million.

His arrival would be another statement of intent after the club splashed out over £140million during the summer transfer window.

Even so Ronaldo is the man all United fans will be longing to see return to the club where he made his name.

For now though next week’s fleeting visit at least presents an opportunity for fans to see their hero adorn the Old Trafford turf once more.
