Could it (still) be magic? Remaining Take That trio plan FIVE Manchester shows

They say three is a magic number – and remaining Take That bandmates Gary, Mark and Howard are hoping it could be magic as they head out on the road as a trio.

The lads minus Robbie Williams and Jason Orange have announced details of a 24 date UK tour which will see them play five nights at the Manchester Phones 4u Arena in May next year.

The Relight My Fire singers unveiled their new album ‘III’ on Twitter earlier this month; just two weeks after Jason Orange announced his departure from the band.

News of the Take That Live 2015 Tour was broadcasted during an X Factor add break on Saturday night and former judge Gary Barlow quickly took to Twitter to ensure fans hadn’t missed out on the ‘surprise’.

The 43-year-old then tweeted: “We can’t wait to get back on the road and see you all, by far our favourite thing to do! #TakeThatLive2015.”

Since forming in 1990 Take That have sold over 30 million records including eight number one albums and 15 number one singles.

The original line up made up of Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen enjoyed huge success in the early 90s with chart-topping hits It Only Takes a Minute and Back for Good but disbanded in 1996 when Robbie announced he wanted to part ways.

The band then reunited in 2005, without Robbie, to huge success and scored three UK number ones including Patience and Shine before heading back out on to the road for a massive sell-out reunion tour.

In 2010 the band announced Robbie Williams would be returning to Take That and the band enjoyed further success with their album, Progress, which included another huge stadium tour.

Previous tours have included everything from circus performers to holograms and a 60ft robot so excitement for the latest offering has been rife on Twitter.

In a statement released at the weekend the band said: ‘We’ve always been very proud of our live shows and are very excited to be touring again next year. Playing live is something we love the most about what we do and we’re looking forward to putting on the most amazing show we can.

“It will have been four years since our last tour so we’re really keen to get back out on the road to play some of our biggest songs from the last twenty years alongside our new ones.”

Support for the duration of the tour will come from former X Factor contestant and rising star Ella Henderson who recently celebrated both her debut single, ‘Ghost’ and her first album, ‘Chapter One’, reaching the number one spot in the UK Charts.
