Vicious Oldham park mugging: Police release images of men wanted in connection with robbery

By Glen Keogh

A man was viciously attacked and mugged as he walked through an Oldham park.

Images have now been released of three men police want to speak to in connection with the violent robbery.

At around 8pm on Saturday June 22, a 27-year-old man was walking through the park close to Cranbrook Street in Oldham, when three men approached him, punched him several times and rifled through his pockets as he lay on the ground.

They eventually ran off with his bag, containing his bank card, and later withdrew £300 at a cash machine at TNA Brothers on Abbeyhills Road.

RECOGNISE THESE MEN? Police want to speak to them

Detective Constable Andrew Day said: “We are asking the public if they recognise the men in these images to get in touch with police.

“Alternatively, if you were in the park that day and saw the robbery, please call us.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8955 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
