Manchester Arndale stabbings: Five injured and one man arrested for knife attack

Five people have been injured during a knife attack at the Arndale Centre this morning, according to Greater Manchester Police.

Three people were stabbed and two others were injured after a man with a large knife attacked shoppers before being wrestled to the ground and arrested by officers.

The shopping centre was evacuated and the area cordoned off in a response praised by Labour councillor Pat Karney as ‘very quick’.

The victims are believed to be receiving treatment in hospital and the centre remains closed to shoppers.
