Manchester Storm fixture unaffected by Coronavirus

Manchester Storm’s trip to Sheffield Steelers on Saturday night is scheduled to go ahead as planned according to a statement from the EIHL yesterday evening.

The growing Coronavirus outbreak has played havoc with sports fixtures around the world, including the cancellation of Manchester City versus Arsenal on Wednesday night.

However, the Elite Ice Hockey League aren’t anticipating any disruption to this weekend’s matches.

The league organisers said: “The Elite League and its member teams will continue to follow advice issued by the UK government and the public health authorities of each UK region with regards to sports events.

“We do not currently have any advice from these bodies to suggest games should not go ahead as planned.”

Manchester Storm face Sheffield Steelers at the FlyDSA Arena on Saturday March 14, with the puck drop at 19:00.
