Who you gonna shag? ‘Ghost sex’ craze gets people in the spirit of paranormal bedroom activity

The latest sex craze will have you crossing over to the other side – of the bed.

Spectrophilia, or ‘ghost sex’, is a fetish classified as the paraphilia in which a person experiences a physical attraction to ghosts or spirits – and apparently it is a growing trend.

Increasing numbers of ‘spectrophiliacs’ are reportedly ‘visualising’ sexual experiences with saucy spirits.

Actress Natasha Blasick caused quite the stir among professionals recently when she made the controversial claim that she has had sex with ghosts on multiple occasions, swearing that the experiences were ‘really, really pleasurable’.

She said: “It was fun. I think ever since I was a child I always wanted to know if there is anything more to this world, I was always asking the questions and I think this made me feel kind of reassured that there is something more than what we can see with the naked eye.

“It gave me comfort, support and love.”

But the Paranormal Activity 2 star isn’t the first of her peers to report antics with a spirit.

Singer Ke$ha reported her naughty nookie with an incubus last year, claiming the romp inspired the track Supernatural which was a hit for the star in 2012.

Ke$ha believed her experience was an opportunity to engage with the supernatural in ‘a sexy way’, and assured fans that she was very open to such an experience.

However, despite these celebrities’ beliefs that they take ‘comfort’ from their experiences, such claims have sparked scepticism from experts in the metaphysical and paranormal.

Hawaiian medium Patricia Mahi told MM: “My opinion is to avoid ghost sex in the same way one would avoid sex with any stranger.

“The experience described as ‘ghost sex’ may be related to a condition known as sleep paralysis, which renders a person awake and aware – but unable to move with a sensation of something heavy pressing down on them.

“My advice is RUN! But seriously my advice to anyone who has encountered a succubus, incubus or experienced ‘ghost sex’ should do his or her best to avoid any further contact.

“It can be a very dangerous world out there and I would seriously recommend that they seek the immediate help of a strong spiritual person to rid them of this potentially harmful activity.

“I recommend that they contact a sensitive that specialises in ‘clearing’ unwanted entities.”

While Ms Mahi has never personally experienced ‘ghost sex’, she believes as sex is such a driving force within our lives that a form of ‘energy transfer’ similar to sex as we know it could be possible with a spirit.

“Just because we die doesn’t mean that our appetites for food, sex, love and companionship die with us.

“I feel that they exist in varying degrees as they do with all people here on earth and death is merely a phase change in that energy from one state, the physical, to another, the non-physical,” said Ms Mahi.

NAUGHT NOOKIE: Romantic tanglings… from beyond the grave?

There are a number of ‘ghost sex’ internet forums, in which people share and discuss their sexual, supernatural experiences.

One contributor to a blog, Natalie, blames ‘ghost sex’ for her pregnancy, posting: “My boyfriend has been dead for four months and I am three months pregnant, so yeah, ghost sex is real.”

Another visitor, under the pseudonym ME12345 posted: “I met this boy and slept at his place and when I was almost asleep I felt someone crawling up under my blanket from my legs and up, lying on top of me, pressing down on my chest, licking my neck on the right side, holding my arms down and it felt like it put something inside me – I want to know if this is a dream or if it is real.”

Ms Mahi said: “Sightings of spirits can be fuelled by our emotional states of grief, loss or loneliness.

“We are still waiting for proof on many of life and death’s mysteries.”

Grace Smith, a student in Manchester, also shared her ghoulish experience.

“I was staying at my friend’s house because she had a sleep paralysis experience which really scared her and, as she didn’t know whether it was a dream or a ghost, she didn’t want to be alone.

“It was as though I was awake but at the same time it was as though I was asleep – so after the event it was hard to know whether it was real or if it was a dream.

“I felt as though my whole body was paralysed, as though I was being suffocated and I couldn’t breathe.

“It was as though a bag was coming towards me and suffocating me but the next thing I knew it was over.”

Ms Smith and her friend were completely terrified when they realised they had experienced the exact same thing as each other, although she is not convinced it was a case of paranormal nookie.

She added: “I don’t believe there is such a thing as ghost sex – but I do believe in ghosts and the paranormal.

“I’m not sure what happened to me, perhaps it was subconscious or a dream but the fact that the same thing happened to my friend makes me think that it was more than a coincidence.

“You see movies like Paranormal Activity where things like that happen to the characters so you start to consider the possibility that the same thing happened to you.”

Ms Smith has considered the possibility that her experience was contact with a spirit from the paranormal world – but said that she could ‘never be 100% sure’.

Paranormal explorer Robert Monroe published a series of Out Of Body Experience books, in which he explores the possibility of beings experiencing a form of sex with spirits that also described the event as an ‘energy transfer’ between them.

The Summoning Succubus online-blog also teaches lovers of the paranormal the step-by-step process of engaging in sexual contact with a spirit – and exploring the ‘powers and abilities and many treasures’ such spirits have to offer.

Ms Mahi strongly advises against the summoning of a succubus or incubus as people are unaware of the dangers of harmful entities they could encourage.

She told MM: “It is just playing with fire.

“One would not have sex with an anonymous person from the street and feel safe or secure about it, and in the same vein, why would any sane person think that having sex with an anonymous entity would be a good idea?”
