Three deaths in last week: Police reassure concerned Bolton residents after trio of suspected murders

Police are reassuring Bolton residents there is no threat to the wider public after three separate, isolated suspected murders in the last week.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after an undentified man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was found with stab wounds in Little Lever this morning.

Officers charged a 37-year-old man with murder today after a 58-year-old woman was found at a home in Sharples on Sunday.

And on Friday a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in Holland after 31-year-old mother-of-three Kelly Davis was found stabbed to death at her home on Queen Street last Monday.

Greater Manchester Police have not identified any link between these incidents.

Speaking about the stabbing of a Bolton man in his 30s today, Superintendent Steve Nibloe said: “A young man has been tragically killed and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.

“This is the third fatal incident across the town in little over a week and there will understandably be concern in the local area and across Bolton as a whole.

“I would like to reassure all residents of the borough that, as with the previous two incidents, we have acted swiftly to make an arrest and will again have extra officers in and around the area if anyone wants to raise their concerns or pass on information.

“I also want to stress that this is an isolated incident and that we do not believe there is a threat to the wider public.”
