Piccadilly Gardens mass brawl: Three men arrested over broad-daylight fight

Three men have been arrested in connection with a broad-daylight brawl in Manchester.

The fracas happened around 3pm on Saturday, May 31, when around 15 men squared up to each other in Piccadilly Gardens. 

Stunned onlookers looked on as the huge melee ensued, while the brawlers only fleeing when police arrived on the scene. There were no reports of any injuries.

Today, three men aged 25, 26 and 29 were arrested in Sheffield for Violent Disorder offences. 

Chief Inspector Faz Zaman said: These arrests clearly demonstrate that violence will not be tolerated on the streets of Manchester and the police will act to bring those responsible to justice no matter where they live.

“Working with South Yorkshire Police we have identified a number of men who are believed to have been involved in the brawl and further arrests will follow.

“Detectives are continuing to review footage of the fight and I encourage anyone who may have filmed it to get in touch with us so that all those responsible may be identified and brought to justice” 

Detectives are now working with South Yorkshire Police to question the men.
