Do you need a canine companion? Manchester dog saved from death row seeking ‘Stella’ home

By Sarah Hodgson

Everyone knows the saying that a cat has nine lives, but what about dogs?

Sandy-coloured Stella was given a lifeline after she was saved from being put to sleep after her seven-day limit at a dog pound expired.

Rochdale Dog and Rescue saved four-year-old staffie Stella by placing her in emergency kennels in May.

She is desperately seeking a home with someone who can offer her a second start in life in a happy and playful home.

Stella is friendly, cheeky and full of energy – she loves to run around and play.

Coryn Shields, manager of Rochdale Dog Rescue, said: “She is such a lovely girl and loves running around the paddock playing with the toys.

“She is vocal, funny and an all-round buffoon but I like her a lot!”

She said that Stella is going to need a high-energy family who have the time and patience to exercise and play with her regularly.

Volunteers at Rochdale Dog Rescue say that she is one of the happiest dogs they have ever seen.

Coryn said: “She never stopped smiling today from the moment I said hello to her to the moment she went back to her kennel – she is the happiest dog on the planet!”

Stella is ready for her ‘forever home’ and has been spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Coryn said: “She is such a lovely girl and we are absolutely desperate to find her the home she deserves.”
