Swedish FC United of Manchester fan Linus Lind, en route from Uppsala to Moston in aid of Doctors Without Borders, has reached Holland though not without difficulties.
Stung by a wasp on leaving Sweden, on his way to the Netherlands his phone decided to horse around.
“Usually Google Maps works perfectly but yesterday it took me out on that sand road,” the 31-year-old told MM on Facebook.
“I had to walk and lead the bike for 2km because the bike kept getting stuck.”
During his travels, he has met a variety of people who have taken an interest in his adventure.
“The Germans like to buy you beer that’s for sure!” said the plucky Swede.
FRIENDLY UBER ALLES: Kind Germans greeted Linus.
“These guys outside of the pub (pictured above) were just some of the nicest people. They asked what the heck I was doing and took an interest in the project.”

Linus has already smashed his initial target of 10,000 Swedish krona (£850 approx) but he is intent on making double.
“Just crossed the border to the Netherlands. 3/6 countries conquered. Maybe that’s worth a few donations?” he said on his Facebook page.
MADE IT! Linus delight having pedalled through three countries.
“I need 3,450 SEK to reach 15,000 which I hope can be reached before I take the ferry between Calais-Dover on the 22nd!”

Doctors Without Borders is a humanitarian-aid NGO in over 60 countries with more than 20,000 medical (and other) volunteers that work in war-torn regions and developing countries facing endemic diseases.
