Bury manager David Flitcroft has said he needs to lift his players, after they surrendered a two-goal lead in the final five minutes against Wigan.
Nathan Cameron put the Shakers ahead after just six minutes from a corner and in the second half substitute Tom Pope doubled the advantage.
But the game turned when Chris Hussey was shown a second yellow with five minutes to go, as Nathan Cameron headed into his own net and then Craig Morgan struck from outside the box.
Flitcroft indicated the officials had cost Bury three points and inflicted what felt like a defeat rather than a draw on his team.
“It’s up to me to pick them [the players] up off the floor and it feels almost as if we have been beaten.
“That’s my job, on Monday, to get them into a good positive state because we’ll dress the game down and show them where they did really well and where we can improve.
“I’m delighted with aspects of the game… but it’s galling, Wigan’s not beaten us, the situation of poor officiating has just ripped the heart out of the result.”
Flitcroft openly questioned the appointment of referee Graham Salisbury to the fixture and said he intended to speak with the league authorities about the officiating.
“The inconsistency of the referee’s performance – he was just making it up there at the end, I don’t think the laws of the game were applied today.
“The people who send these referees, I don’t believe they are really thinking about who they’ve got to send to these games.
“I’ll certainly be speaking to the-powers-that-be to get a reason why Graham has come here.”
